Our General Insurance segment serves a wide range of customers, from individuals to small and medium-sized businesses, commercial enterprises and major multi-national corporations. Our business divisions focus on customer segments and key markets that present the best opportunities for sustained and profitable growth.
Europe General Insurance business division builds on existing solid relationships with customers, agents and brokers. We offer personal and commercial products through a strong network of brokers and exclusive agents, or independent financial advisers, as well as directly by phone and through the Internet.
Our North America Commercial business division serves a wide range of small and mid-sized businesses and commercial market segments, including specialty lines and the programmes sector.
Farmers benefits from the strong Farmers brand and uses Farmers’ 17,000 exclusive agents, supported by a national network of claims service centres and claims professionals. Together, Farmers and Zurich are one of the largest providers in the small business market in the US, with the largest distribution capacity.
Small businesses are companies with fewer than 50 employees in the retail, wholesale, service, office, institutional and manufacturing fields.
Through our Global Corporate business division, we provide a distinctive service to major national or multi-national corporations with domestic and international insurance needs. We make it our business to know our customers’ business, which together with our knowledge of local markets, helps us form strong customer relationships.
We have a solid reputation for providing technical expertise and value-added services, including risk engineering, claims management and local policy issuance. We can also provide customers with selected information about their worldwide programme.
Effective risk management underpins our own business and that of our customers. We offer consulting and insurance services to help companies reduce their enterprise risk.
International Businesses division serves the personal lines, commercial and corporate customer segments with a range of products and services through various distribution channels.
These include tied agents, independent agents and brokers, as well as directly to the customer.
