MOTOR CLAIMS
Assessment Centres to open on 1 April 2004

SA Eagle Durban and Cape Town are opening drive-in Motor Claims Assessment Centres on 1 April and another, based in Randburg, Johannesburg will open shortly thereafter. The details for the Johannesburg centre are currently being finalised and will be communicated shortly.

The centres, which offer a mandatory one-stop claims service for vehicles that can be driven after an accident, are staffed by trained Claims Assessors. Advanced technology in the form of Audatex is used and a quote and repair authorisation is provided immediately.

The Assessment Centres have been designed primarily with the convenience of our customers in mind. Policyholders will benefit from this enhanced service that minimises the hassles associated with an accident. The centres will also assist us in containing premium increases as a result of greater control over the cost of repairs.

When the client reports an accident the broker must, in the first instance, establish that the vehicle can be driven. If so, the client must drive the vehicle to the drive-in Assessment Centre. Thereafter, the broker must send the necessary documentation to the Central Processing Unit to enable our Technicians to register the claim.

Where a client is unable to visit the centre, our “We come to you!” service offering in the form of Auto Assess, will be available. In this instance, the broker contacts SA Eagle’s in-house assessors. We visit the client and once the vehicle has been inspected, an immediate repair quote and authorisation is provided.

In both instances, a reputable panel beater is recommended and a 12-month guarantee is provided on the workmanship.

An assessment form has been produced and will be made available to you as soon as it has been printed. Please ensure that it is completed correctly. In particular, the choice of tick boxes which indicate whether the vehicle is to be assessed at the assessment centre or by Auto Assess.

So, if an accident is reported and the vehicle can be driven, contact the Assessment Centre on the number listed below. In the case of Auto Assess, the telephone numbers have also been listed.

Durban (031) 368 7743 (031) 367 2100

As we strive to improve our service offerings in the interests of our policyholders, we trust that we can rely on your support of our Assessment Centres.
