Zurich climbs to third place in Sunday Times Top Brands Survey

Zurich Insurance was voted third in the short-term insurance – business-to-business category of the latest Sunday Times Top Brands survey that is conducted annually.

This is particularly gratifying to us, considering that SA Eagle only began operating under the Zurich Insurance brand during 2007, making us relatively young in brand terms locally. Another factor is that, as a Company, advertising is kept to a minimum, which enables us to allocate more to claims and we are also able to invest in the broker channel more actively.

The survey not only measured a brand’s size, but also examined its relative power among its users and its relative attraction among non-users. “The winners of these awards are most likely companies that have realised that it is even more important to spend money on marketing during a recession as they have a better opportunity to gain valuable market share in these current times,” said Enver Groenewald, Avusa Media General Manager: Advertising Revenue and Strategic Communications, quoted in the stand-alone survey published on Sunday 23 August 2009.

Zurich’s overall brand strategy will continue to build on this growing awareness and appreciation amongst its target audience.

We envisage going from strength to strength with the support of you, our broker partners, and our mutual customers.
